THE COMING HOME CENTRE
Providing a service to veterans from the Armed Forces in Govan and surrounding areas.
A message from Drew McKinney - Operations Manager
My name is Drew McKinney and I am the Operation Manager of the Community Veterans Support service which and based here at the Coming Home Centre in the Pearce Institute in Govan Glasgow.
Welcome to our website which I hope you will find informative and updated with a range of useful information built around the work we do with our veterans. We are a forward thinking charity who believe in a person centre led approach with our veterans at the heart of it.
The Coming Home Centre is a drop in centre for Armed Forces Veterans based at the Pearce Institute, Govan, Glasgow.
The Charity works with veterans at the point of needing assistance with issues surrounding mental and physical health, homelessness, housing, pensions, benefits support, employment and training, bike maintenance workshops, adventurous activities, vans for furniture uplift, removal or recycling, friendship and camaraderie.
We provide tea, coffee and a daily hot meal free of charge to veterans. Eating a hot meal together is an activity that most veterans can identify with and relate back to their service experiences.
Friendly and welcoming
For the socially isolated, elderly, early service leavers and transitioning veterans food is the eternal icebreaker and can be a catalyst for opening up to further help and assistance.
The Centre offers in house support as well as other agency referral where required.

What an amazing surprise!
Last week we had a visit from the Linthouse Housing Association in Glasgow.
The office team had been collecting throughout last year and presented the Coming Home Centre with a massive cheque for £500.
We would like to thank everyone at the Linthouse Housing Association for this wonderful gift and we are sure it will go a long way to helping veterans at the Coming Home Centre.
